Late Agapito Coutinho a famous son of St Mathias, Divar. A cultural icon who famously dressed up as Santa Claus for many years around Goa at festivals, hotels, etc also always supported both the Bonderam's on Divar Island wearing exotic costumes. He was also a president of St Mathias Sports Club for a few years and initiated my changes.

One of its most famous sons and a mine of information on anything Divar, is our longtime friend, and locally known simply as Bhaie. The delivery of newspapers started by his family in the early 50's around the island of Divar and carried on to this day with Bhaie's at the helm.

Salt pans were a common sight in the past but there are still some areas of Goa that these can be seen. Ribanader, Batim Keri are some villages that during the months of late April and May one can see salt being harvested.
